Matthew Lew launches M by Matthew Lew with Gilt City Chicago!

On Thursday, June 9th, I had my first day as an intern at Jo Chicago, and after a wonderful day in the office, I attended a party that celebrated the launch of  “M by Matthew Lew”, Chicago artist Matthew Lew’s new online shop offering art and design to inspire the home.  This venture features Lew’s diverse body of work and supports his belief that art comes in many forms and should be accessible to all.

The party, sponsored by Gilt City Chicago was held at Lew’s studio.  It was the type of party that made me wish I could be as confident and well-dressed as the attendees and someday have an apartment of my own to decorate with Lew’s art. The food was absolutely adorable and delicious and included mini hamburgers and tacos, and, my favorite, delicious red-velvet cake pops.

In addition to great food, art, and atmosphere, Lew did an incredible art demonstration using wine. Guests departed bellies full of food and wine with a goody bag in tow.  I’ve brought my eco friendly bag everywhere since Thursday night! Overall, it was the perfect first day to what I anticipate what will be an exciting summer!
