Thorndale Manor opened its doors on Friday, April 29 during a preview event to kick-off the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago’s 2011 Lake Forest Showhouse & Gardens.  We want to congratulate all 34 interior designers and 9 landscape designers who participated in the esteemed showhouse and, in particular, to Frank Ponterio Interior Design (FPID) and Bentwood of Chicago. Their library and butler’s panty, respectively, both paid homage to the work of Howard Van Doren Shaw while also celebrating inspired, modern-day gatherings and entertaining.  The preview event allowed Frank Ponterio of FPID and Kimball Derrick of Bentwood to unveil their handiwork to high praise.  The Lake Forest Showhouse & Gardens is open until May 22, 2011, Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday – Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $30 online or $35 at the door.
